Today October 22nd, 2014, Bruno Dubreuil uses as a reference my photographic work « bleu de travail » in an article published in the rubric « It was better now » of the webmagazine « Our age is thirteen ».
Paper – written in French – to be read here.
Our age is thirteen is an online magazine about photography and society. It explores the world each week through the eyes of photographers.
In this magazine, the rubric “It was better now” aims to detect through the history of photography echoes between the works of past and current work, recurring forms, approaches of similarities. Because photography is always a great mix of moments of thought, art and emotion.
In the article titled “Fred Ramos or clothing that testify,” it says in particular:
“The contrast between the coldness of the process and the burden of pathos that clings to clothing can then give results less razzle-dazzle and deeper. This is the case in Eric Valdenaire’s serie « bleu de travail » : the garment is a second skin that accompanies the worker for years. Its wear, subtle faded speaks too, filigree, painful period that is the end of work. Nice work so long to see on http://www.ericvaldenaire.com.”
Bruno Dubreuil, columnist, teaches photography at Verdier center (Paris X) since 2000. This raises many questions about photography and responds in Our age is thirteen.
