I am extremely happy, and proud, to participate in the “BLEU de travail” (workwear) exhibition presented from September 18 to October 4, 2020 in Roubaix, France.
Beyond the incredible artistic proposal proposed by Olivier Muzellec and the Non-Lieu‘s team, it is a real wonder to discover the magnificent Cavrois-Mahieu Textile Factory, an undeniable industrial heritage, wonderfully highlighted, with the last passage crossing one of its two preserved chimney, and the huge stokehole where are presented, among other things, the magnificent unique pieces of the Tuulikki CHOMPRÉ‘s collection.
“BLEU de travail” (workwear). An exhibition organized by the Non-Lieu, as part of the 2020 edition of Beffrois du Travail, in partnership with the National Archives of the World of Work, the Villa Cavrois and the ESAAT, the College of Art, Design and Textiles in Roubaix.
With the participation of the artists Anne BRETON, Swan CAZAUX, Kim CREIGHTON, Françoise DECOSTER, Raphaël DECOSTER, Paul DESRAVINES, LES FAUX-AMIS, Agnès HARDY, Philippe HOLLEVOUT, Muriel KLEINHOLTZ, Andy KRAFT, Ysabel DE MAISONNEUVE, Julien MOREL, Christelle MOTTE, Thanh NGUYEN, Philippe PAOLI, REGARDER POUR SORTIR (Valéry PELLETIER, Ivan POLLIART), Virginie REYNAERT, Mitsugu SASAKI, Frédéric TENTELIER, Éric VALDENAIRE, Amélie VIDGRAIN.
And unique pieces from the Tuulikki CHOMPRÉ‘s collection, ready-to-wear from Mont Saint-Michel and Clivia Nobili, and work clothes from L’Ascenseur Confection (Merville).

Textile, boro
A hybridization between Japanese workwear (Noragi) and that of Europe (blue): the poor farmers of Japan made their moragi last by repairing it, transforming it into a real patchwork. This boro technique is applied to two European workwears.
